Biography Janelle plays a wide variety of musical génres including classical, traditional, sacred, popular, and oldies. A harpist since the age of seven, Janelle House has spent the past 17 years of her life developing her love of the harp. Janelle studied for 12 years with Richard Fleisher of the Naples Philharmonic, and performed the Mozart Concerto for Flute and Harp with Mr. Fleisher. She has won awards and scholarships including the Naples Music Club Turiel Scholarship and Clearwater Christian College Presidential Music Scholarship, going on to be the principal harpist at Clearwater Christian College. Janelle has made frequent appearances with the University of Florida Orchestra and Wind Symphony and performs throughout the state as a free lance harpist at weddings, banquets, church services, conventions, and other special events. Aware of the harp’s soothing sound, and healing qualities, Janelle has shared her love of the harp at several Hospice events. Janelle has made appearances with various orchestras including the Southwest Florida Symphony in their performance of Bartok’s Concerto for Orchestra, the Strauss Symphony of America in their production An Evening in Vienna, and the Naples Orchestra and Chorus in their performances of Dubois’ The Seven Last Words of Christ. In 2005 Janelle was featured with the Anna Maria Island Orchestra in their performance of Boieldieu's Concerto for Harp in C Major. Also in 2005 & 2006, Janelle was asked to join the orchestra at Walt Disney World's Epcot Center in their Christmas Candlelight Extravaganza. Also during the summer of 2006, Janelle spent a week in the Bronx, NY taking a small harp through the Housing Projects sharing the soothing sounds of the harp with adults and children alike. Most recently Janelle joined the Brevard Symphony Orchestra for their performance of Mahler’s 4th Symphony.
